“Love, Loss and Light” is a deeply personal and reflective collection of poetry that captures the journey from childhood to adulthood, exploring the universal emotions of love, loss, and the search for light (healing and hope). Through vivid storytelling, the collection touches on themes of pain, confusion, and happiness, offering a raw and emotional account of the trials we face while growing.
Written in loving memory of Shally—Omoshalewa Oluwadamilola Ashimi Alonge—this collection reflects her life and passion for writing. Shally’s journey as a writer began at the age of 9, and she went on to contribute to respected publications such as Premium Times, Naija Stories, Castles Magazine, and The Punch. She was a graduate of Covenant University and earned an MBA from IE Business School. Her professional career included roles at Union Bank, Coke, Diageo, and Friesland Campina, where she became known as a Brand Storyteller and Digital Marketer.
Her work continues to inspire as “Love, Loss, and Light” stands as her first compilation of stories and poems. It reflects the highs and lows of the human experience, leaving behind a legacy that lives on through her writing.
